Attention all Donors:
CHARLEE wants to ensure that all our children have the appropriate supplies when the 2010-11 school year begins. While you are out shopping for your children this weekend think of a CHARLEE child and consider donating some school supplies, anything ranging from paper, binders, notebooks, pens, pencils, glue, and / or scissors. For your convenience BankAtlantic has generously agreed to allow items to be dropped off at any of their Miami-Dade County branches from August 20, 2010 to September 3, 2010.

Miami’s 114th Birthday Celebration!
On July 28th, the City of Miami will celebrate its Official 114th Birthday at the American Airlines Arena. The event will bring together City of Miami residents and professionals to experience the best that Miami has to offer while supporting local charities. 2500 guests are expected to fill the American Airlines Arena to enjoy delicious food from over 20 restaurants, cocktails courtesy of GREY GOOSE Vodka, music by DJ Le Spam, along with a performance from locally renowned band İSuenalo!. Tickets are $25 each and 100% of tickets sales will go to benefit CHARLEE when you select our organization as your charity of choice! CORPO Yoga Grand Opening!
Corpo Yoga is holding its Grand Opening on Saturday June 5th from 3pm to 6pm. Address: 9030 SW 72 Court in Downtown Dadeland. Classes will be held for children and adults at 3:30pm and 4:30pm. Adults are $20 each and children (under 17) are $15 each. Live music by Mantra Groove Band, spiritual artist demonstrations, and complimentary healthy snacks from Lime, Panera Bread, Tropical Smoothie Café, and Stir Moon. New Grant Award!
CHARLEE has just been awarded a grant for its Educational Services Department in the amount of $40,000! Funding support has been provided by the State Attorney’s Office Denise Moon Memorial Fund at Dade Community Foundation. This grant will be used to support educational advocacy and tutoring services for CHARLEE youth entering the 9th grade. Thank you!

NEW Grant Award!
CHARLEE would like to thank the Dade Community Foundation for its generous grant award in the amount of $8,000! Awarded funds will be used to support CHARLEE’s Medical Services Department, which provides acute nursing care, medication management, and overall health care management services to over 500 CHARLEE children each year.

CARLY SIMON COMES TO SOUTH FLORIDA
Yes, the rumors are true! Music legend Carly Simon is indeed coming to South Florida to do a benefit concert for CHARLEE! This once-in-a-lifetime event will take place on Friday evening, May 16 at the historical Gusman Theater in Downtown Miami. Tickets for this concert will be on sale Friday, April 25 starting at 10AM. Seats range from $1,000 to $150. Remember, all proceeds from this amazing night will benefit the hundreds of abused and abandoned children that we serve. A big thank you to all of you who helped make Charlee's 25th Birthday such a memorable one. When we took the task of trying to raise $25,000 in 25 hours in celebration of our 25th Anniversary, we knew it would be a hard goal to reach. Nevertheless, the out-pouring of support and Birthday wishes (whether in monetary or in words) were uplifting and inspring. Even though we did not reach our $25,000 mark, we still feel this campaign was a huge success!
